Since 1997 more than 1.000 CT’s have been produced and delivered to the customers worldwide.

 

 
CT is certified in many countries using different rules:
· Germany – BFU/LTF
· USA – S-LSA - FAA
· UK – BCAR Section S - CAA
and many other countries
 
 
We deliver more than 300 airplanes in 2007 and there is another big increase in 2008.
 
 
It takes between 8 to 10 weeks after all materials are in the factory.
 
Composite materials are engineering materials made from two or more components. One component is often a strong fibre such as fiberglass (lowest strength), kevlar or carbon (highest strength). This fibre gives the material its tensile strength, while another component (called matrix) is often a resin such as polyester (lower quality) or epoxy (higher quality) that binds the fibres together, transferring load from broken fibers to unbroken ones and between fibers that are not oriented along lines of tension.
 
 
Composite materials were first used in the Boeing 707 passenger jet in the 1950s, where it comprised about two percent of the structure. By the 1960s, composite materials became more available, in particular carbon, embedded in epoxy resins. In present days composite materials are widely used in all aviation and aerospace projects also in structures of new projects like Boeing Dreamliner or Airbus 380.
 
 
Composites have numerous advantages over metal materials, including strength, weight, ease and durability of repair. Repairs to aircraft structures are controlled and should be carried out according to the Aircraft Structural Repair Manual (SRM). For other applications the repaired components would normally be expected to meet the original specification and mechanical performance requirements. In some parts of the world it is still easier to find an experienced metal technician.
 
 
The wings spar is clamped by two main bolts inside the cockpit, so for ground transportation the wings can be easily installed and removed by two persons.

At the moment, a life limit has not been established. The first CTs have exceeded 5,000 flight hours.
 
 
Yes. With our standard white airframe finish and mainly with all color graphics standard patterns (except patterns with black color) you can park your CT outside during high temperatures. In order to prevent color fading and to reduce the influence of water, wind, dust, etc., and for security reason you should protected with a aircraft cover or better keeping it inside.
 
 
The ergonomically arranged cockpit simplifies access and reading of the control panel on the left side. Large gull wing doors that open upward, comfortable and adjustable seats, easy storage access and excellent visibility make the CTLS cockpit. We believe you will find no better.
 
 
Safety is one of the main priorities. The carbon-aramid composite safety cabin helps to protect you and your passenger.  The engine mount and carbon fuselage attach points reduce the possibility of engine intrusion into the cabin.  Standard four-point harnesses along with crushable elements of the fuselage construction absorb energy and reduce possible loads to the pilot & passenger. The strong windshield-uprights and massive upper construction complete the safety cabin.  The fuel tanks are sensibly located in the wings. Also the airplane is fitted with an aircraft parachute recovery systems.

Even though the CT structure is designed to enhance safety, Flight Design places the highest important on saving lives. You should always have a second chance. Panaviacion received first airplane

Panaviacion - the new Flight Design Distributor for Central America - received their first CTLS and Oleg Yasnitskiy from Flight Design UA did a brief introduction into the airplane itself. Panaviacion working together with an FAA certified maintenance facility has also secured the service for Flight Design products in this area. 

During first September weekend the airplane was promoted in Costa Rica and has created a create interest. On Sunday the airplane landed safe in David, Panama.
